Resell

Resell feature allows users to sell their used data back to the GIANT community. The listing price is set based on the data and days left on the plan. The price will automatically decrease every 24 hrs until sold or expired. You can also cancel your listing/offer if you decide that you want to use it yourself.

Resell criteria:

1. Resell is supported for all unactivated purchases.
2. Resell is supported for providers who have opt-in to allow resell.
3. User who purchased used/resold plans cannot resell it again.
4. Canceled resell-offers can be resold again.

Resale price distribution:

Resale price is distributed on the plan expiry as credits in the owner's account using the following % share split:

Credits distribution	% share
Owner	75%
Provider/carrier	20%
Protocol fee	5%

 

Resale price:

Resale price is calculated using the following formula and is updated every 24 hrs:

resalePrice = retailPrice * (dataRemaining / dataLimit) * IF(dataRemaining > 1GB * daysRemaining, MIN(1GB * daysRemaining / dataRemaining, 0.8), 0.8)

This means that, the resale price is set at minimum 20% discount. But if the data remaining is more than 1GB per day (estimated avg. consumption per day), then the discount increases as days left on the plan decreases.

For example,
5 GB 30 day original plan was for $20. Now let's see the price calculation for resell offer:

3GB	15	20*3/5*0.8 = $9.6
3GB	2	20*3/5*0.67 = $8.04

Notes:

1. Resell is only allowed if the existing eSIM plan is deleted from the original owner's device
2. Listing price is set automatically depending on the data remaining in the plan and days left to use it.
3. Also at the time of the purchase, the listing is validated again to hold the owner honest.
